Several fashion designers have teamed up with a nonprofit organization called Starlight Children’s Foundation Canada.
The purpose of this foundation is to provide the sick kids “a chance to be themselves.”
Starlight Children’s Foundation Canada and local designers have collaborated to undertake a project called Ward+Robes.
‘Ward+Robes’ project have just started in a hospital in Ontario.
The aim of this project is to inculcate self-confidence in the ill children.
The designers have distributed new stylish gowns to the sick kids in hospital.
There are a variety of cool designs to choose from.
The kids seem to be quite happy with the designer gowns.
One girl explained: “Wearing a hospital gown is like being in a hospital. There’s nothing good about it.”
Another girl stated: “It sort of makes me feel like my identity is been stripped away from me.”
A happy patient said: “When I first saw the gowns, I saw empowerment in teenagers in a place where they don’t have any.”
Nearly 130 hospitals of Canada will be soon benefited by this amazing project.
The designers are hoping to roll out their gowns in different countries across the world.
