Film ‘Lion’ had its world premiere at Toronto Film Festival. In this film, you’ll see some of the most beautiful streets of India, and phenomenal Australia.
Nobody could’ve expected that this film would do this good.
The film has got nominated in four categories which are, Best Motion Picture – Drama, Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role, Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role and Best Original Score.
Priyanka Bose has talked about the film saying…
Priyanka said, “I’m so happy for the team. The film truly deserved to have this recognition. It’s been a great journey to have shot and worked on ‘Lion.'”
“It’s amazing for me as an actor to be part of a team of a film that’s earning high global recognition, including the nominations at the Golden Globes now,” she added further.
A lot like Slumdog Millionaire.
Almost 20 million children, about 4% of the of their population in India are Orphans. Not just this, it is more than the total population of Delhi as well. Out of which, parent’s of only 0.3 percent children have died, and rest of them have just abandoned their children.
Film Lion would be sending a great message to the people, just like the way Slumdog Millionaire explored the lives of slums in India; Lion promises to study the life of an orphan. The storyline is also quite similar to that of Slumdog as it tells a story of a poor kid who’s abandoned by his parents. Intentionally or unintentionally.
Avinash Sharma, who is representing Lion film in India said…
“‘Lion’ is a fantastic film, and we are glad we are bringing such an amazing, worthy film to the screens in India.”
